Hello,
I have recently found this wonderful forum and wanted to submit the project I am contemplating doing. I currently own a very nice Altec 342b in almost perfect condition. It has all 4 of the Peerless transformers and is being used as a 4X1 into my PC for some decent recording of vocals and guitars. It really sounds quite nice. Tomorrow I will be given some more Altec 342b's some working some not.
So here is my idea and what I need feedback on.
I want to add the following capabilities just not sure where to start.
1. Phase Switch (no big deal)
2. A PAN POT for each of the 4 channels for my main 342b
3. A trim input level for microphone matching somewhere around the transformer input.
4. A rumble filter to each circuit.
5. take out the power amp section or modify it for stereo out to line level maybe switchable for various levels to both pro and consumer audio gear.

NExt I hope to turn one of the other units into an all tube mastering mixer with EQ like on the GYRAF Pultec passive EQ

Alot to start with but it helps when asking for advice if those giving advice have a broader picture of your overall goal.
If someone has a better idea on how to best use these great old pieces of gear I want to know that too.

Thanks Bert

I have schematics if anyone needs them!
