Looks like some flavor of an EV RE16.
You're right, it seems very much like it. It seems the sticker is missing though. We would have a definite clue if we could see the vents.
Who's right or wrong is irrelevant. What matters is what's right or wrong.

Could be an EV DS35.... Same head and size as RE16, but without the vents. Amazing sound for the price, BTW!

Edit: I was wrong about the DS35 having the same head. It's bigger than the RE16.

Looks like an EV PL95 which is a gray version of the DS 35.
Used a lot of these for SR back in the early 80s for vocal.
