G1176 R50 8k2?
« on: June 20, 2004, 10:11:20 PM »
Sorry if this has been asked before - I did a search on some old TT pages I archived and on Orson's page but couldn't find the answer.

The schematic provided for the Gyraf 1176 shows R50 with a value of 8k2 near the meter switching circuit. But the METER PCB in the layout shows only R51, the 3k6 resistor. It looks like the +8 position has been eliminated from the front panel example but I couldn't find any reference to it in the text.

What is the reason this was left out of the clone?

because the meter switch is a 3-position switch, used for bypass-gr-vu+4 (look at the front panel)

I've never used the +8 position. ever.
