Thanks to ebay I ended up with a free broken LXP-1. Turns on but doesn't pass audio. I'm going to open it up tonight, but I don't even know what I should be looking for. What kinds of things tend to go bad in these kinds of units?
not sure but i would start with the PSU first. usually the logic, and the display will run on 5v, the audio usually on +- 15 to 18 via separate regulators.
Turns out the guy just sent the wrong adapters. I used a 9v to get the LXP-1 running, but can someone who owns one let me know the right numbers for the wall wart?
