Hi, I have built one of Uwe Beis's AD converters and it is now in a box working just fine. Using an extrrnal single rail 15volt PSU and changing the R8 ... etc. and the R9 ... etc. to 9.09k and 10k respectively (following his mod tips on his website), it now takes ~ +20dBu on the inputs. I also implemented a pad for ~ minus 4 and minus 10dB to allow for even higher headroom if I'd like to run a really hot signal into it. I also gave it a stepped switch for gain with 6dB steps (up to 36dB is available), mine goes from zero up to +30dB gain. To sum it up, It works and sunds great.
... and I did some meassurments, i guess the noise floor in my particular build is as low as it gets..., -121.5dBA FS.
Maybe someone out there could help me out with one thing:
- Is it possible to change out the polar electrolytics, C1, C2, C11 and C12 in the schematic below, to non-polar/bi-polar electrolytics?
Any thoughts on that?
