Hello fellows!
Was looking for T-pad attenuator with cheaper price for my DIY!
Only one manufactory created it for me!
Second part of this (1Kohm) are logarithmic. First and third are linear (500Ohm each).
Today I have cheaper T-Pad with high quality for my preamp line!
You can see some photos! Prece 7$ per ps! Hope it will good and for you)))

I hear you.
Haven't had the time to use them in a project but like I said before , the action feels good so I don't expect any troubles from this pot.

I just built one of these up. The plan was to arrange it so there was no attenuation when the control is fully clockwise and full attenuation when it is v counter-clockwise. Attached is the schematic I used. Unfortunately it does not work as planned. The attenuation at the mid point ought to be about 16dB but it is about 4dB. On investigation it looks like the 1K log pot has been fitted on backwards so it operates like an anti-log pot.

Thoughts?

Cheers

Ian

Ian, hello!
Thanks you for report, but I don't know how it be work in your schematic. You write U-Pad, but It is T-Pad!
I add the schematic for connection!

Everything sold today as a T-pad has something around a dB loss as minimum.  These, CAPI and Hairball.  Purple Audio pioneered the current recipe for their 1176, and decided it was the best course of action.  If you want a true T-pad, the shunt has to fully disconnect, and they are a special taper that maxes out at about 5K before going open at the end.

I understand that, but wired as a T pad there is still the same problem. At the half way piont, the 1K pot is about 800 ohms so the attenuation is very little. I think the 1K needs to be log so it is 200 or 100 ohms at the half way point.

Cheers

Ian
