No volume knob. I am just going to vary mic distamce to get a good level.
This is a no frills box. No phase shift switch, , no phantom switch, (ext. pwr supply used), just an XLR and a 1/4 inch jack on the front, that's it.

I think Winston might have put a pot in between the stages on a 72 he built.

Interesting to not that the V76 looks kind of like two V72's in series.

I'm having trouble finding a schematic for this baby.... maybe the pages are down at the mo.......can someone point me in the right direction?

Ollie told me the V76 is basically two V72s side by side, you're right about that.

Is the V72 called such because it has 72 dB gain?

How does the noise floor compare to your V76?

V-72s please.... but from what I read, the circuit is the same, only the input X-former is different, so either would do.

If you need it you can find it here. My brain must have been fried.

Just to clarify .... I've got some Tele EF86's somewhere. Could I use these as a direct plug in .... or would I have to adjust values for bias etc?

depending on the amount of german language you understand, this one might be of interest:
Otto Diciol
it's a reprint of a book from the 1950s. amongst other interesting terms it covers the v72-amp very detailed.
