It's not done in the capsule.
Please read through the Microphone Meta - and the material on the G7 pages. A thorough understanding of how these things works is an important part of getting this project working - and it would be a bit dangerous starting building a G7 without understanding the basics.

Flo is right--he just did not word it correctly. The UM70 head has a built in pattern control switch, which commutates (-)/0/(+)voltages from head preamp to the capsule. I would think ground/60V/120V should work, however I need to double check exact bias for M7 and internal connection of the switch.
