Hi Folks,

I've finally gotten around to building my first mic preamp. I'm using a design that I came across here:

http://www.atps.net/Projects/Mic_Pre_and_VU.html

which seems fairly standard.

I'm getting the components from Mouser. I'd like to get some good quality input/output XLR connectors but I'm not clear as to what the differences are between the ones available from Mouser. Which ones are recommended?

Also, the project uses a 10K C (reverse Log) 16mm potentiometer. I'd prefer to use a stepped pot but can't seem to find them in Mouser's catalogue - where can I get a (say) 12-step pot that would be suitable for this mic pre?

Cheers,

Chris

Generally they don't exist. You normally buy a 12 way switch and wire in the resistors yourself.
