Hi all,
I started few point to point builds with 22,5awg solid core.. I see on pictures that vintage units used to take 18/20awg for wiring.. Does it matter in term of noise or sound ?..
Thank you

If there's significant current, you need a gauge adequate for the intended current. For ground, you need a large gauge for low resistance, in order to minimize the effects of ground loops (hum). For low-level signal, you may use the smallest gauge possible, in order to minimize stray capacitance, that may cause crosstalk or oscillations.
