Hi all,
Since it is my first point to point build, i am a little bit scary about  the first "ON" i have to make.. Do you have any recommandation or process to follow ?

Check all connections a few times until you no longer see any faults (use the buzzer on your voltmeter)… make sure to use as low value as possible on the fuse (160mA slow) would do. Make sure the tubes are in place and the T4.

Turn it "ON" and smell for burns… then, while checking the schematic, measure all noted voltages starting with the PSU.

Some resistors might smell burned when fired up for the first time but if everything is in order it will stop after a while… in this case maybe the 1W 4k7 resistor in the PSU and perhaps the 10k/1W resistors fed the B+… but probably not.

Good luck

Best regards

/John

power up with no tube and no T4B

check your psu voltage according to schematic
check you don't have too much dc passing the electrolytic caps
check if the neon and the meter  light

then put all the tubes and measure and compare the tubes voltages

then  send some audio and see if it pass
if it pass
put back the T4B
and test to compress
