Hi all,

I'm looking to track down a handful of obsolete Fairchild ICs, so that my Ward Beck M406B comp/lim modules can live again. The parts in question are Fairchild UB57716396, and we're looking for 6 in total - if you have any you're prepared to part with, just drop me a line!

Alternatively, if you've had any good experiences tracking down obsolete ICs in the past and have any tips to share, I'm all ears. I've tried a number of broker website search engines with no joy, but there are doubtless other roads to search down...

Thanks!
Andy

That part number makes no sense to me.  Nothing even close on the schematic for the M406B.  Go read this thread and check out the schematic on the WBS site.  http://wbsps.ca/forum/index.php?topic=808.msg3835#msg3835

Looking at the link mjrippe provided shows the M406B to use UA716 ic's.  UB57716396 contains  716 so maybe a house number for that ic.
Doubt you'll find any UA716 though.....  http://www.datasheets360.com/pdf/2728791842368831630

Thanks very much for this, mjrippe and Walrus - you're absolutely right, the part I'm looking for is noted on the schematic as 716 (Z1, Z2 and Z3 from memory), and in the parts list in the original service manual (which I also have) is given the full designation as in my original post above. Might be an internal WBS house designation as you suggest?

Hope that helps clarify what I'm looking for. Any leads, suggestions or pointers gratefully received! (For example, if you know any noted collectors of ancient Fairchild ICs, or similar...)

Cheers
Andy
