I'm trying to understand the wiring diagram on this Triad A-61J. I've tried wiring it up several ways, but it doesn't seem to work as it should.

I want to wire it so that the primary is 600ohms and the two secondaries are also 600ohms.

I don't understand the connections in the "Tie" column--some of them don't make sense. I'd like to know what these connections are actually doing to arrive at the different taps. There are 13 wires coming out of this thing. For the 600ohm primary, it seems to mean:

Connect + to blue wire
Connect - to red/white wire
Connect the red and the blue/white wire together.

Is that correct?

What use is the white wire? It isn't mentioned on the connection diagram. Is it connected to the transformer can?

when you double the turns, you quadruple the inductance, hopefully.

the wht wire is an electrostatic shield used to limit capacitance between pri and sec and thus improve response,

and it may reject noise

here is a wiring diagram for what you want
