Curious if anyone knows of a DIY project, or kit, of a SSL talkback compressor in a 500 series format?

I'm thinking of using Jakob's schematic as a starting point: http://www.gyraf.dk/schematics/SSL_82E33_Talkback.GIF, or maybe reference the Alan Smart C2

But I actually want to keep talkback mic functionality, so I would graft a mic element onto the front panel, and maybe amplify it with one of those 1 IC solutions, and have the input to the compressor switchable between line in, and the font mounted mic- in. This way I could use it for talkback during recording, and as a comp on mixdown.

Is there already a product out there that does this? Has someone done a kit, or project? Is anyone interested in collaborating?

Cheers

Kris

Guess I'm starting a new project on this one....

Decided to buy a SSL Beta board/panel kit (http://www2.solidstatelogic.com/studio/500format-modules) as a starting point so I can get power/switching handled easily. Hopefully the pots are useful.

For a mic I'm going to use the Panasonic WM-61A replacement (http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/pui-audio-inc/POM-3535L-3-R/668-1391-ND/3830232) , and graft it to one of the circuits here. Push that into a switch that toggles between the line input (from the 500 buss), or the mic.

And then send the signal to the Talk-N-Blend schematic from geetar_king  mentioned here: https://groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=30888.160

Should be quite do-able. Hope it turns out....

cheers

K
