Oscilloscope for 20$ on ebay??
« on: May 28, 2017, 11:48:18 PM »
When I first saw those little kit on Ebay I was really skeptical...
Now that I have one in my hand I can confirm, it's trustable and may be pretty impressive too.

I've ordered one 2 months ago, the shipping was slow but I've been using it since 2-3 weeks and it's just perfect!
See by yourself, here's my review of the scope!

The oscilloscope I've buy is pretty useful and is not my main tool. It's not meant for video signal but since it's mainly an Audio DIY forum, I think this is a great tool at low cost.

I bought one of these te other week:

Not DIY but managed to get one during a sale in AliExpress for $28 shipped.

It’s annoyingly small but I don’t have a lot of bench space so it works fine for my situation.

Rather funny review of one here:

Does anyone know what the latency on some of these pocket scopes are? I could see building a 2 ch one into a meter panel as a phase scope if the latency isn't too bad. Having all the extra features at the console output would be nice too.

I have a DS202 in my guerrilla toolbox.

I used it in the workshop when I didn't have another thing...

It's too small to use in the bench, and the probe's cable length  doesn't help with positioning it in a viewable point.

Anyway, I wired 2 studios in the last year and used it for signal tracing, it works nicely for that, and the small size makes it ideal for that.

Thought maybe all I've read with it was 1Khz sine.

I got it for around 35€ and don't regret it, even just for stay in the drawer as a backup.

If you make some work out of the shop it's definitely worth it.

But for a main tool, If you have space for it and just do audio  work, I would get a cheap analog scope. Feels better and easier to work with.
Working on it...

maybe a bit out of topic. We bought a FG085 function generator for some basic work. We found that it have a lot of switching noise. Provably the power supply. I have not checked yet with a better one.

just in case that someone is also interested in those.
