i finished a copy of ela m251 w/original ck12 but teflon type and american old rca 6072.w/ more voltage and micaplate caps(4800p and 100p).and sound exelent .in place of 30M ohm change it to a 1G ohm? its beter? why?thanks!
 
The lower value grid to ground will cause the High Pass filter the capsule grid resistor forms to move up, it might also have been used to control any grid leakage current in the orignial design when using a 6072a.

The PDF book at the neumann site "microphones" has a good write up about the High Pass filter part.

I think there is a schematic on the web with the grid to ground at 8 meg.
