Hi,

Here is a new DIY project : 3 different stereo compressors of 3 different types (VCA, FET, opto) in the same 19" rack:
I've already chosen these three clones by PCB Grinder:

- MS 4K
- MS HOL
-  MS 76

The idea is to have one same function buttons for all compressor: one THRESHOLD, one ATTACK, one RELEASE, one GAIN.
Also one VU meter for all the compressors.

A switch should select one of the 3 models.
A switch should link both channels (same settings with the functions of one channel).

Is this feasible or utopic ?

Thank you for your help ?

Yann

Far from easy to do.

Try to read (and understand) the schematics for those units, and from that make your own estimation of how much work it would take.

You'll probably find it unrealistic for a number of reasons.

I know I do.

different power supplies, and the controls works in different ways. It could be possible if using lots of relays and stacked pots.
I don´t think it worth the trouble.  I would prefer to have 3 good compressors than 3 options for 1 channel. Some would like to use two in series by example.

best regards
Rafael

It is clearly a lot of work just to have 3 dynamics colours in the same box.

I will start with a 1176 clone.
I am looking for a mono channel but only the PCB and the BOM.
Any suggestions ?
Thanx
