Hi,
We've had a related thing about meters vs LED-bars at the old place,
but more specifically, how about a gainreduction LED-bar for the SSL-clone ?
Basic question is if it's an good idea ? (w.r.t. functionality,
not about looks)
Or would have the wrong kind of 'ballistics' ?
Could imagine actually that's a better way for GR than a meter,
but don't know.
The circuit itself could be in the form of some 10 LEDs
(blue, green, whatever) each representing steps of 1.0 or 1.5 dB.
The LM3914 ('linear range') would be suited for this,
with a choice of moving dot or bar.
OK, a little about looks: intended enclosure is a seventies
Tek 1HE 19", mainly metal/gray & blue.
This is another kind of retro-style, bakelite or the
Beh.-VU would seem out of place here.
Haven't found a cool meter, but a 'cold' row of blue LEDs
would seem fine here though.
Thanks,
Peter
