For low values polypropilene capacitors (WIMA), for high values Panasonic FC electrolytics in paralell with 100n polypropilene (WIMA).

I break in both types for 48 hours by applying half the rated DC as bias while passing a volt of 1K sine wave through them. Also use a 2k resistor in series with the signal to limit current and protect the output of the signal generator. I just throw it on a breadboard like that.
