Hi all...

I have a friend that have sent me a Custom Quad 100W guitar amp head for repair and some service.

Problem seems to be that the Lead channel is losing its signal... strumming the guitar sounds but fades off quickly and just farts for the last second of sound.

I have measured all the +15V/ -15V rails and they are fine. But when switching to the Lead channel the voltage on IC3 and IC4 (pin 1) drops from 15V to 9,6V.

Due to my lack of knowledge and experience with IC's I must ask if this would be normal?

The power section is working fine and the Rhythm channel sound just fine with no problems at all.

C15 is changed for a new one but still the same problem.

Best regards

/John

PROBLEM SOLVED

I replaced C13 as well and that seemed to do the trick...

The Lead channel is now working and sounding "normal"

Best regards
