I figure annealing the headbasket on clone bodies will damage the plating and soldering joints.

But could also relieve tensions and reduce ringing.

Anybody tried this?

We make our own grilles for our microphone products.
Annealing would require 1000F (if brass) and more if a steel alloy.
This would surely discolor plating and melt solder.

Anyway annealing doesn't change damping factor or young's modulus...It just
lowers yield point and stress relieves.

Interesting note: I tried annealing the metal mesh material before the forming die
to reduce springback. The metal mesh fell apart...it depends on the stress from the weaving process to hold it together!
