What capacitance is a 50+50uf cap?

I have some old telefunken preamps and they each have a Siemens 50+50 uf 350v can cap. I would have thought they were a dual cap in one can but it only has two pins. Certainly not a dual cap. One measured at 20uf and the other at 25uf.

Any ideas what a 50+50 means?

It is a 50uF/50uF dual cap. The housing is the cathode (-) for both caps.

"-pol ist am Gehäuse" translates as ~ housing is the cathode.

Two 50uF in series add up to a 25uF total capacitance.

Replace them with 2x 50uf caps, join the (-) leg of both, you're done
