Hello everyone,

I scored this TT patchbay on ebay:

It comes out of a live-console and it has pcbs with some 'filters' on the back:

I have never come across any filtering at the patchbay and I wonder if it is a good or a bad thing to have these things in the signal path? I assume that it should reject radio frequencies, which shouldn't hurt? Could it do any damage?

Cheers,

Michael

Definitely can't hurt. Those things are (apparently) called "three terminal capacitor", at least in Murata-speak:

Basically two ferrite beads (the cylindrical ends) in-line with the signal, and a low-value capacitor (pF-range) going to ground, between them.
