Not sure where to post this. In our new bungalow we don't have room for our old CD separates sytem so we want to buy a good quality portable CD player we can stick in the kitchen to sing along  to our favourite CDs while we do the ironing. We bought one from Argos but when we got it home it sounding terrible. So, any recommendations for a good quality one?

Cheers

I'd get a Sony discman and one of those Marshall Docks/wireless speakers :) From the portable sound systems i like panasonic's.

Have owned some from Sony, Panasonic, Phillips,  Marantz and Aiwa.
All have broken down except for the Phillips EXP-101. Bought it in '99, everything still works, but I don't use it anymore.

I also have a Sony CD-ROM drive which has playback buttons and a headphone jack output on the front panel, so it can be turned into a portable CD-player by powering it up with a PC power supply (without actually owning a PC), or a power adapter with PC molex connector output.

Thanks for the suggestions. We eventually decided to splash out on a John Lewis Cello mini hi-fi (LOL). It arrives tomorrow, We'll see how it fares against my monitor golds.

Cheers

Ian
