I've just been given a bunch of Gardners MU7570 10k /10k (C.T) transformers. I'm just wondering what to make with them. Is 10k a tad high for a microphone in put?

They are 10K:10K line level transformers. Use them at the input to a tube power amplifier to provide both a balanced input and a phase splitter in one component.

Cheers

10K is usually too high for pultec-style filter inputs. That one needs to be driven low-Z..

Use it for vari-mu stage inputs or interstaging...

The poor man's Pultec is designed to be used withj a 10K:10K input transformer.

I use 10K:10K on the inputs of my LA2a type circuits.
Less overall gain but that's not a problem.

You could use these as input trannies for an ADR Compex. The first revision used A simila type (7530 or 7550), see here: https://groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=16483.20
