Hi!

I just received a 500-series chassis that I bought on ebay (Lindell 506 MkII). I don't have any modules yet, so I'm not sure how to test that it's in working order. I do have a multimeter, and am told that's the way to do it, but am not sure what I'm supposed to be doing exactly. Any help would be very much appreciated!

The original API spec described a 15 pin interface with the following assignments. Use a multimeter to check proper voltages. As pucho said, all you can really check without modules is Power Supply voltages, which includes phantom power.  The main PS voltage may be 24v depending on what you bought - see link below.

DGE CONNECTOR PIN OUT
TERMINAL FUNCTION
1 CHASSIS GROUND
2 OUTPUT + (+4 LEVEL)
3 OUTPUT + (-2 LEVEL)
4 OUTPUT -
5 COMMON
6 525 STEREO LINK
7 INPUT- (-2 LEVEL)
8 INPUT- (+4 LEVEL)
9 INPUT+ (-2 LEVEL)
10 INPUT+ (+4 LEVEL)
11 GAIN TRIM RESISTOR
12 +16VDC
13 POWER SUPPLY COMMON 14 -16VDC
15 +48VDC

The modern specs differ. See Radial’s page for a table that may be applicable, again depending on what you bought:

Hope this helps.
