Hello Banzai,

Can you tell me more about the micbody? Internal diameter and length?
More Infos about the capsule would be nice.
Is it possible to fit a submini tube inside?

Best

I know Banzai could give you better informations but as far as I know, if they have the same diameter like the beesneez lulu a submini tube should work. Ben use the same body for his tube mic small condenser mics.

Original Neumann is 21 x 110mm
This body is 22 x 130mm. It's short and fat, very nice looking mic.

Capsule is based on KK84. Same materials (mylar/gold)

No problem for sub-mini. Plenty of space inside (ø19mm)

Is there compatibility between this body and the geniue Neumann KM84 capsule?

The connecting pin is different and the Neumann is slightly smaller in diameter. But unless you have one lying around, it's not really worth it: new KK84's are €535. Might as well buy a complete vintage KM84  ;)

Aw man, This is a great deal and we really don't have many options for these, and I even have the transformer Ina drawer upstairs, but I don't think I can swing this while in classes.

Is this likely to be a one-time thing, or do you plan on doing runs every once in a while?

PAyment sent for a second one.  ;)
I will try it, really like the sound of the KM84, will see how it sounds compared to each other.

For the moment it's just a one time thing. With Graeme we wanted to create a high quality project that's really easy to build and accessible to anyone with a soldering iron. This might be the simplest project on Groupdiy: fill the board, set bias, screw on the capsule and you're done!

The metalwork is also a custom run made for this project, the only off the shelf parts being the springy bit and the connector housing. We left the body tube raw on purpose, so everyone can decide whether they want to leave as is, polish, beadblast, powdercoat, spray paint, or plate. Leaving as is, it should get a nice patina finish after a while (you can accelerate the process by beadblasting).

Money sent for two Kits. Will build nice little Tube Sticks  ::)

Thanks Mike for doing this!

Sigh ... time to see if I can move some guitar pedals on Craigslist then before these sell out. Or might just ask the wife for an indulgence :)

Hi
Any info about capsule and rest of parts cost to complete the mic ?

Any sound sample like acoustic guitar and voice  recorded with a transparent preamp (as well) ?
And better more  some sound comparison with an original unit .

this is a first time offer, so there will be no sound comparison at this time.
Anyway, Banzai uploaded a schematic and a BOM.
And as Banzai already said, the capsule is based on the KK84.
