Hello

I have been studying the THAT Corp Dn125 application note. No where is the function of VR2 explained. From my understanding this functions as a ratio control?

In that context VR2 is "slope".

Threshold determines when or above what input level it starts compressing/limiting (reducing gain). The threshold pot adds in a DC to bias that circuit off at lower level.

Gain trim is a overall gain offset independent of compression, aka "make up gain". This trim adds in a control voltage to statically vary the gain.

The subject pot varies how severely it reduces the gain when signal rises above threshold, or slope.
