Mono mic to USB on laptop - NOW no time for getting cables !

I need a hack for connecting a mono mic to an USB on my laptop - pin config !

I need to make a recording right now and no cable shop nearby ;-((

HELP !!!!

you can't connect a mono-mic to an usb-port without an audio to usb converter. Look if you find a 3.5mm jack on your laptop for audio in/out.

I have no single MIC input jack ... it's combined with headphones out and I have no single plug that fits this IN/OUT hole ;-((

I think the choices are:
- Use a connector that fits the combined in/output.
- Use an USB audio interface

(Maybe a picture of the combined in/out connector would also help.)

Yeah, of cause ... but I needed it right away - today I just order a converter 2 mini female jacks to 1 male mini jack.

What is your laptop?
for example thinkpad I have at work uses 4-pin 3.5mm connector for "headset"
1mic+L&R out.
