Any chance this may be a remake of the MXR Dual Limiter? I've always wanted to get one. Is there any truth to ART and MXR being related in some way???

mxr is own by jim dunlop the wah wah pedal guys. .

Yeah I was just curious if there may be a connection to the designs in some way ...I've seen a few mentions online of ART's history and, the NAMM video showcasing the Dual Limiter made a reference to an already existing design......

It does look similar......

I've been on the look out for an MXR for a little while too. They are pretty thin on the ground over here. I am interested to find out if these, or the MXR, sound at all Pye-like.

I think there were a couple companies that came out of the original MXR design team.

IIRC ART was one of those companies, so some of the same DNA but no formal business connection AFAIK.

That would be nice if it were....I'm thinking the MXR is probably not in the same league as the PYE but, I've heard people talking highly of it's sound. Fostex 3070 is PWM also and, although I have never used either the PYE or the MXR, I'd guess it doesn't compare to either on any significant level....

From the front panel alone I’d say it’s odds-on a reboot of the MXR136 - even down to the ratio choice and control placement / spacing.

On the MXR, I picked one up on eBay a year or two back and (once recapped) I love it, to the point I’ve considered getting another. It’s not a clean unit by any stretch, but has a really controlled-yet-musical gain reduction to my ears. Colourful and fun! If this is a reissue type affair, I’d be interested to compare.
