These MP 5.99 preamps by Sound Skulptor are very good - Lundahl in/out, clean and muscular, gain range switch (low-mid-hi) so you can do anything from very loud close mic signals to a whisper and a pad for the output, if you want to drive it. Not a copy of anything, and not too far from a John Hardy pre.

Is the Sound Skulptor pre modeled like a Focusrite Red?

Is that 375euro each or for both of the MP599?
