hi

the problem we are having is in rewind

that's when the machine trips the -40V breaker
when i had the machine open i swapped out the 40V breakers
in case we had a weak one but the machine still trips the -40V
line which now has the breaker from the +40V line

the  problem is in rewind only . . .  otherwise the machine is pretty stable

does this point to anything in particular?

and in looking at the schematics the breakers are on the 40V ac
feeding the rectifiers (i thought they were on the DC V)

thank you in advance
lance

The breaker pops because of high current.  Something in the MDA is drawing high current. Not for the faint hearted.
Are your tensions correct?

i rebuilt the MDAs
flopped the  breakers on the two 40V lines and it is the same line that is popping
so it is not the breaker

reset the tensions and realigned the transport as per
Otari_MTR-90mkIII_TransportServo_Alignment_jss_1990
a very good document by the way

the machine is running very stable now except this PSU/BREAKER  issue

thanks for your input
lance
