Hi!
Love this forum but have never posted yet...

My Q is: Would it be possible and is it a good idea to regulate the 6.3v  heater supply with a pi-filter?

If so, what specs should the inductor have?

Looking forward to your input :)

Peder

Is it a good idea? NO.

What you need for smoothing is energy storage. E-caps give you hundreds or thousands of times more energy storage per dollar or per cubic space. So you throw-away money/space which could be put to better use.

Thanks for clearing that out! I've seen it used in some bass preamps and thought it was a good idea until I looked at the specs for a inductor...and you confirmed my thoughts thanks!
