I was tracking this neato Jørgen Schou trannie in my ebay, because even though it's an MC (moving coil step up trannie for use with pickups, vinyl/LPs ya know) it's suitable as a really nice mic trannie. I really think it sounds kick ass, at least the one I got which is slightly different... I think the opening bid was like 30$, so I figured I'd bid on it. Forgot all about it and now... tadadaa:

Sold for 551US$ Damn audiophools

If you see any JS trannie for sale, buy it. Then sell it to me  Or lock it away in a safe for your retirement fund..

Are they collectors items somewhere? I am also surprised at the money random Western Electric Tranys can go for.

Yes they are. A JS along with a mono Ortofon SPU(?) pickup is a japanese jazz lovers wet dream. That along with some Western Electric WE300Bs or similiar tubes made of unobtanium..

I have a JS MC stepup transformer here. Maybe I´ll just make a tiny box for it and sell at ebay for a good amount!
