My question is about repairing of the drum machines Roland TR-808.

There is on http://secretlifeofsynthesizers.com/the-strange-heart-of-the-roland-tr-808/ very interesting article about special secret transistor in Roland TR-808.
The name of that transistor is C828 R 8N or C828 S 85.
This is transistor with trademark of Japanese firm Matsuhita https://s3.amazonaws.com/au-tm/211484.jpg

Do you know what does it mean optional suffix in Japanese Industrial Standard?
For example, the marking C828 R 8N means 2SC828 – NPN HF transistor 828 with the Class of gain (hfe) = 180-360.

My question is “what exactly means suffix 8N.
On the web https://www.elexp.com/Images/Reading_Transistor_Markings.pdf
it is mentioned: “The optional suffix indicates that the type is approved for use by various Japanese organizations”.
I was wondering what exactly means “8N”. One can see also the following suffix: 0D, 5K, 6N, 48, 29 etc in the Internet. What does it mean?

Could anybody explain me what point in the in the upper left corner (or in center) mean? In the Internet you can find marking of SC828 as with that point as without that point
