I’m interested in info on this early SS console by Studer.  It seems to have some urban lore .  Lots of info on 169 but no schematics on 089.

Do they use Germanium tranny’s?  What are the custom looking blue inline chips?  Has anyone used these and have some experience with quualities compared to the 169s ?

So I see it uses some Opamps but this is early 70s?

Lots of tantalum caps.  That would effect the sound.  And the plastic assembly for the linear eq pots look like something different.

This should be in drawing I guess not brewery.  Please move if a moderator deems necessary.  Thanks

Found 189 sch.  Used 748 and 301 chips.  Seems like later in mid 70s.

I found a video that described the 089 as 1969 70.  That’s seems early for chips.

Oh well must be the added gri,t spit and sizzle that people like about these.

First Studio I worked at had A80s.  I loved the way they were built.  I’m sure these mixers have the same kind construction.

It uses a positive ground and runs chips and such upside down single supply voltage of -22volts.  This is like early germanium PNP, but uses bc109s and bc179 silicon. It’s interesting.  Also it looks like the compressor is a PWM type.

Ok Studer A 101 amps are the blue chips. And found the thread on it.  Makes more since now.  I’d love to hear one someday.
