C&K F Series Pushbutton

Can someone explain to me how the C&K F Series works wrt actually buying the right parts? It seems like I need to buy the assembly like this:

Digikey: ZFA FA200 BK GN 2U EE

but this comes with a DPDT switch. I need 4PDT switches. So then I need to buy the actual 4PDT switch and swap it?

I'm also confused by the part numbers. On the C&K website it says the part numbers are more like what Mouser has which is this:

Mouser: ZF2UEEBF11010108

and has a different datasheet.

Also, it seems like the indicator flips inside the housing and changes color?!

Sounds like one for mouser or digitkey online chat assistance.  On diy gear I've ever seen using the 4 poles with fisheye caps, threaded shells are absent.  :/

Ah, ok. I definitely need the threaded shell. I'm retrofitting to an old panel that already has 0.56" holes and these call for 0.551 so it's just begging to use these.

I sympathize with you, as page two, "Order Code - Chassis" part number addendum you're to make to switch config part numbers is confusing... I can't get hits with them on mouser's site.

I'm not sure how the knob looks like.

my recollection (from last century so a little hazy) is F2UEE and F4UEE were the basic 2p and 4p switch PN,,, the rest is extra credit reading.

And the F6UEE is a six-pole. The switches come bare. The caps have to be ordered separately

I think the part you want is the Mechanical Indicator Button (aka Fish eye switch) and the order code is style (3 digits )- shell colour (2 digits) - Out Position Colour (2 digits) - In Position Colour (2 digits)

I believe there is a disconnect between the datasheet part codes and the Mouser ones as the parts have been superceded

That's correct; when depressed, the fisheye opens and let see the inside coloured part.

I have since changed my plans and will not be buying these. So I will not be able to report back results. But from studying the datasheet, I believe that part code is for a 4 pole switch with shell, black nut and green indicator and it's stocked by Mouser. It looks like Digikey normally also carries them (although they're temporarily out of stock).

related question - I'm looking for pushbutton switches that are almost identical to these C&K F series switches, except the through hole pins are significantly longer. I've come across this type of switch in a lot of vintage stereo equipment and I've been stuck manually extending the legs of C&K switches. It would be nice to find something that actually fits properly.

It used to be a standard option on ITT F series. I don't know if C&K continued..
