nicked the coil while fixing dirty battery contacts in the clock, 

FYI  4000 turns of #44 will do the trick,  clock working.

that is all.

No... :)
If people that assemble this clock were payed the correct amount, the price at the shop would justify fixing it  ::)
This is the future...avoiding another 500g of plastic in the trash  ::)
And at least CJ won't put report at shock log topic with a 1.5V battery analog clock  8)

How does it "sound"?

You do know you can *buy* (ugh)  that movement? Maybe a dozen for $10.
