Architecture and computation...what's on the horizon?

The mind reels at all the things that could be created. First on my list? A toilet bowl lid that lowers itself after use and does not require motors.  ;D  After that, a solar array that follows the sun. Or how about a light scaffolding for trees that chemically harness the energy of swaying in the breeze.

lowering the lid does not require  a motor, getting it back up is another issue.  :

they already do, the big dog solar array farms out in the dessert track the sun.

Huh? Chemically?  I'd lean toward maybe a variant piezo-electric effect.

Perhaps more efficient to directly capture wind energy, than waiting for it to dissipate (as heat) bending green wood..

Of course!  ;D I just meant with without gearboxes / actuators.
