Hi everybody

made some search around , also here in gdiy
unfortunately found not much about a :

Pro Quality RIAA Tube Preamp Diy Project

apart the usual : " Our kit is the best you can buy "…  ::)  :-[
or the absurd unjustified hi  priced little hi-fi box from usual manufacturers...

it is because not much can be done for get the max audio quality from a  Cartridge source ?

the sound type i like ( ..as many other too ..  ;D  ) is the that from Manley devices

any help about is welcome !
thanks in advance.
cheers

Various good books around, RIAA is treated for instance in this one:

Designing High-Fidelity Valve Preamps  by Merlin Blencowe

The books by Morgan Jones will address it as well I expect.

EAR 824p  would also be a decent one and pretty easy to do in a day.

Too many to post but these would be top of my list.

Phono preamps were a very mature technology last century when I stopped messing with them.

A relatively inexpensive modern op amp can far exceed the performance of typical MM carts.

Tubes seem attractive for other than performance metrics.

I'm pretty sure Pete Millett has a tube phono preamp. Let's have a look.

Yup:

And a nice solid state design as well:

I just did a 2-channel version of his vacuum tube mic preamp. He seems to have some innovative designs on that page:
