Much is made of the Schoeps circuit, which is used more or less copied directly in some knock-off mics.
I have a CMC5 with the "blue dot" modification of moving a jumper for +5db gain (from about 13 to 25-ish mv or whatever).
It just occurred to me: do these copies generally have that capability, having the same circuit, or are they more approximate?
