toner chip , what is this ? counter , opv ,
« on: March 12, 2019, 05:59:03 AM »
a bit off topic , DIY still in some kind of ways .
Most people know the problem , you got a laserprinter and the toners empty , at least thats what the printer says though the toner is far from being really empty .

at this , my particular printer ,there´s a 8pin SMD chip which should be responsible .
couldn´t find any info about it whatsoever .

Anybody got more insight on this ? a secret chip database one should know about ?
or is this chinese "print any random numbers on it " kind of thing ?

here´s a pic
cheers

I know that there are 'chip resetters' available.
I am lucky to have a printer that doesn't have a chip in the toner cartridge!
There is a solution for every problem!

Have a look here, as a starting point:

Personally, I avoid any kind of DRM like the plague.
Why is it people love to believe and hate to know?
