Thanks for sharing.  How do you like Fusion 360 vs Inventor vs Solidworks  (if you've compared them)

I used inventor previously. never dabbled with solidworks.

Fusion360 is good because of the community, not just the software. Any problem you have is a youtube away from being resolved.

the learning curve with Fusion360 is not very hard either. For the kinds of stuff that I do, I was able to do the basics, such as basic enclosures within an hour or so.  It seems that the hardest thing is to know what order to do things in, and make sure things are constrained. I suspect those skills will cover me whichever toolchain I go to.

I'm sure you will like this, but only 16 hours left to watch it some workbench developments from Elysia:

I was just looking at your 3 button design because I quite like the push buttons. However, they no longer seem to be available from Rapid and diypartssupply.com seems to has disappeared.

Ian,

I still have some of them available at: https://expataudio.myshopify.com/products/pb613-momentary-switch-kit

However, I'm also tempted to move away from these for future designs. The LED's for them are nearly impossible to source unless you buy them with the switches. I have a few hundred LED's in the different colors. From then on, they'll only be available in Red. (unless I want to carry multiple inventory items).

Cheers

Hi Dafydd,

Thanks for the info. Looks like these are no longer readily available so I think I will look for an alternative.

How do you get from 2:24 to 2:25? I have been interested in something like this, just not sure how to produce the finished product. You have a design on the computer, and then the Item in hand. Is it milled?
