Locating a bad component on stereo EQ

I’ve been battling with an EQ on and off for about two years now. I’ll try to figure it out, get frustrated and throw it back on the shelf. Decided to pull it out again yesterday and am still at a loss. The left channels LF band is reading about 200Hz below what it should be. Since the left channel is correct, can I go back and forth with the right channel until I find a difference on my DMM? If so... How the heck would I do that? Sorry for the noob question.

a DMM may not enough gear to find the snake in the woodpile, but you can try...

Measure resistances around the pot between the good channel and bad...

Can you post a schematic? That would make it much easier for us to suggest where to look.
