hand held microphones used by TV reporters

even on hurricane, they use the same mics and u dont really hear any wind sound at all!
anyone knows what brand, model etc those mics are!

i didnt know know they could do post pro overdub over 2 sec delay time, when live in air!

Noise cancellation is a mature technology, first pioneered for aircraft radio microphones decades ago but now miniaturized and improved. They even wirelessly mic up basketball players in the middle of games inside extremely noisy arenas. 

I can imagine specialized wind filters or even dedicated mic designs, but sorry, I do not know the actual answer to your question. It was easier to make a bad joke.  :-[

But seriously why do we have to "see" reporters leaning into gale force winds? There have been some amusing videos where they faked the seriousness of the situation they were showing.

PS: Speaking of wind I experienced a small microburst event thursday... It took me all day friday to clean up tree branches from my yard. While it was happening I was afraid to go out in my yard because the wind was shooting tree branches like missiles across my yard. It would be dangerous and insane to stand out in that. I later picked up tree branches 50-75 Yards away from the trees they launched from.

I often mic up chamber/orchestral music outdoors. Many mics have an internal windscreen in capsule/headbasket. Couple that with a foam external wind screen and some appropriate HPF, and it can be greatly minimized(except for perfect on-axis gusts). I.E.-KM184s pointing straight down on a string/woodwind section with manufacturer supplied foam windscreen provides virtually no wind noise below 25mph, 90 degrees off-axis with gusts.... HPF...
