I am looking for replacement contacts for the base of a Neumann U87.
Someone removed the capsule head and placed it back while the pins were not properly aligned, so he damaged the (female) contacts in the base of the microphone body...
As far as I know, the pins in the capsule head are 1.5 mm thick.
I suppose there must be (female) connectors that use a similar type of contacts? Or maybe some type of tube socket?
(I know Neumann used to sell the whole socket assembly, but that seems a bit too much for only a couple of damaged contacts!)
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think it will be difficult to mount them.
The Neumann contacts have a flat end, that goes through the plastic base.
So my first idea was that maybe (crimp) connector pins exist with more or less the same shape?
I have no idea how likely it is that those contacts were specially made for Neumann.

Any chance there's a smaller version of the "Molex connector" socket contacts, like the ones for powering ATA/IDE hard-drives?

Good suggestion. It is worth to investigate, thanks!

I have already checked an ATX power connector for a PC motherboard.
It looked good, but the contacts are too small to take 1.5 mm pins.

Maybe too crazy idea but what about making them? Hobbies stores have brass sheets. Would that work or is other material? Maybe heat treated?

Suggestion/question

I'm afraid that the contacts are too small for me to produce them myself!

In the meantime I got the tip that the contacts from a tuchel connector will fit.
So I am going to try this.

I meant these ones, but not 100% sure about the sizing.

In the meantime I found the solution: the contacts in this Hirschmann (3p) connector are exactly the same as the ones used by Neumann in the amplifier assembly of the U87.

I am almost too ashamed to tell you...  :-\
I used 1.5 mm thick brass nails!
Used a file to round the ends and glued them in with epoxy cement.
Not what you would call "gold plated" but the repaired microphone already works for years now.

Thanks for the tips!  Sounds easy enough!
