Hello,

I've seen a lot of great mics being cloned around here but i couldnt find and threads on building the vintage c414EB or B-ULS. Why is it? Is it not worth it?

have a good day.

They might not have the same "alure" as their arguably more renowned German and/or tube-equipped counterparts, would be my suspicion :p

That being said, i've done some stuff sort of in that vague direction, but haven't had access (so far) to any AKG's in order to do any comparisons, but for what it's worth...

Hi,
i'd build a 414eb clone with a SE 4400a body, Tim's CT12 capsule and swap/mod the circuit board to match the original and add a 2:1 output transformer.
Quite expensive in the end but you'll have 90% of the original sound IMHO

regards
Fred
