+5  but Annie is just as good as Dusty.

Arguably annie and david are (were) superior (IMO) especially with their later more edgy material (Eurythmics).  I admit I didn't listen to the entire cover.

This is completely subjective so disregard this one old man.

I loved everything about this video!  Had no idea there was a pre-Eurythmics band with Annie and Dave.

I knew the trivia that they had a band called The Tourists, but never went and looked for any of their material.

At one of the venues where I run live sound, the owner brought this 80's (sorta) mix CD he made and this was on it, and it rocked my world.

I have dubbed this style:

BUBBLE GUM PUNK.

That's my expression.

I own it.  :)

IMO the Tourists version does not improve on the original.
I think Dave & Annie were much better in their self-penned songs than covers.

I think Dusty was far better than Annie if you look at her (Dusty's) repertoire: if you listen to 'Look of love' her voice has a wonderful 'smoky' sound, plus don't forget all the session work she did.

Having said that, Annie song 'Into the west' from Lord of the Rings is one that can bring tears to my eyes.

Cheers
