i have a pair of calrec comp/lim modules that seem promising, on the inside they look pretty ssl-ish, dbx 2150A's, NE5532's, lundahls. the docs specify +/-18vdc, which seems surprising considering what's in these things (but my knowledge of circuits is fairly limited, so..) anyway, i was hoping to power these by dropping into my console (they'll drop right in) and bring em up in the patchbay rather than build a box, etc, but my console's PSU is +/- 24vdc & +/- 15vdc. damn.

looking at the docs i see a regulator in the calrec dc input path anyway, so should i try these at +/-15 or rig up a separate 18vdc PSU? would 24 be too much?

i was thinking maybe the only reason these are 18v is because they came out of a console that was 18v.. i could also be an idiot..

thanks -scott
