New possible donor body (Lewitt style)

Has anybody tried this mic as a donor body? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F174069057285 it's very obviously a Lewitt rip off, runs on 5v like most electret karaoke mic. Looks like it could be very promising, if you get PCBs made that'll fit it.

Might be good for a build utilizing a smaller tube, I don't know how much room there is in there for a switch PCB if you want it to be a 48v solid state mic.

Good find! That’s cheap as chips. I really like the Lewitt look (and have several) so tempting to see what else this could be used for.

I love the ads for cheap Chinese mics. Ya got yer heart shaped orientation, sing good sound, and for some reason the mic says “240Pro” on it but the ads are listed as “420Pro”.

I also noticed the discrepancy between the label and the title (got zero results for "240pro"), but hey - if it works...

Probably being careful with it being an LCT 240 Pro rip off.

There is also the possibility that both bodies (the lewitt and this one) are made on the same chinese factory. It is amazing you can find when exchanging mail with Alibaba and Aliexpress stores/factories.

Those chienese body looks slightly different than body from Lewitt. They are made from "ABS material". Lewitt should be made from metal. Lewitt has two screews on the bottom side fo body, chinese body dont have those screws. Also the form is in detail different than geniue Lewitt.

I wonder how to deansembling such a body without damaging it.... 8)

I'm certain it is, but it could always just be some cheap zinc alloy or whatever the "Chinese mystery metal" is, and could resonate like crazy.

That would be a really nice donor for a ribbon motor...

That would depend on how thick is is (or isn't). For example, my two Alctron HSMC001's, with the chassis made up of bent rails, "bongs" for a good half-second or more if you tap'em. As a contrast though, the BM800's with that cast-metal chassis (and possibly thinner / lighter body tube) are relatively "dead".
